The treatment involves a course of peels specifically formulated for intimate and delicate areas of the
body. A course of 3-6 peels, spaced two weeks apart, may be required, depending on the severity of the
pigmentation.
Intimate areas should be about the same shade as the rest of the client’s skin colour. Sometimes, the
skin in these areas can turn a darker hue. This isn’t usually a sign of anything serious, but many clients
find this darkening of the area embarrassing, especially during hotter months. Common areas of
darkening include the: Armpits, back of the neck, Groin, Elbows, Knees, and Inside thigh.
Treatment must be combined with Serums to provide further lightening and pigment removal, or to
improve the appearance of the client’s skin.
These cells have melanin in them, so this process results in thicker and darker skin in those areas.
Shaving and hair removal products can also lead to darkening of the skin for the same reason. Friction
can also lead to inflammation in the skin, which can in turn cause post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
We see this, for example, after ingrown hairs, as well as in the folds of the groin, where there can be
inflammation caused by moist skin rubbing against moist skin — a condition called intertrigo
